Washing Guidelines

Flat Rayon

Rayon garments should be hand or machine washed*. For hand washable items, use the following as a guide:

  • Use mild lukewarm or cool suds.
  • Gently squeeze suds through the fabric and rinse in lukewarm water.
  • Do not wring or twist the article.
  • Smooth or shake out the article and place on a non-rust hanger to dry.
  • Press the article while damp on the under-side with the iron at a moderate setting.
  • If finishing on the outer-side is required, a press cloth should be used.
  • Between use, rayon articles may be pressed with a lukewarm iron.

For specific instructions, refer to the garment's sewn-in care label.

To help prevent damage to any clothing or garments with decorations and also fringed sarongs, we recommend hand washing or if machine washing, place the item in a "delicates" laundry bag.

Crinkle Rayon

How to wash rayon crinkle fabric?

Crinkle Rayon may shrink at various rates every time it's washed in a machine, even if you take great care by washing it in cold water.

Crinkle Rayon will especially shrink if you put it in the dryer.

The best way to wash 100% Crinkle rayon without shrinking it too much, is to gently hand-wash the garment in cold water and air-dry only.

A luke warm iron should bring the shape back into any lost shape.

Cotton

Cotton can be easily laundered. It can withstand high temperatures (boiling water does not hurt the fibre).

Any good detergent can be used to wash cotton.

Chlorine bleach can be used safely on cotton whites.

Use colour safe bleach on dyed cottons.

Since cotton fibres are fairly non-elastic, cotton fabrics may wrinkle easily, and fabric may need frequent ironing.

We highly reccomend line drying to any cotton garments.

Cotton may take much longer to dry than less absorbent fibres.

Cotton can be ironed with a hot iron, and does not scorch easily.

(For specific instruction refer to the garment's sewn-in care label.)

Polyester Microfiber

Most of our board shorts are made using quick dry polyester microfiber.

We recommend hand washing or rinsing in fresh water after swimming in salt or chlorinated water.

Line dry under normal conditions.

Do not machine dry or iron this fabric.
